The sun was setting, casting an orange glow on the courtyard. Wendy was sitting on the edge of the fountain with a melancholy expression on her face, deep in thought. All of a sudden, she caught a glimmer from the corner of her eye. She looked up to discover a small, elegant box that glistened in the fading light.
Curious, Wendy stood on her feet, stepped closer and examined the box. It had beautiful engravings of birds and flowers. She knelt down to get a better look and opened the lid. Inside, Wendy found a pair of earrings – the same ones her grandmother had given her many years ago. She had never seen them again since her grandmother had passed away.
A wave of nostalgia washed over her. She knew her grandmother was looking after her, even in death. She smiled to herself and put the box away in her pocket. She would treasure the earrings as a reminder of her grandmother’s unconditional love.
Wendy gazed at the sunset, her heart now light and full of joy. Even though her grandmother was gone, she could still feel her presence. She closed her eyes, feeling the radiant warmth of the fading sun, and the peace it brought her.
